You Can Ride Model Railway Trains

Model Railway trains are a great pleasure for my family. No matter to whom you speak, you will find a person, in my family who can tell you about these trains. Since, we can't afford to collect the large ones, we opted to collect the smaller models.

According to my daddy, grandpa had been building model sets since daddy was a little boy. Daddy told me of all the Christmases they had with a train running around the tree. My ears could not stop listening to how thrilled my daddy was to watch the locomotive spin around and around. My father would imagine that he was the engineer.

Now apparently, my dad's mother was the one who enjoyed riding trains. She was fascinated with the whistles and tracks. When grandma was a little girl she had to travel with her dad on various trips. Great grandpa was a business man and had to stay on the rails. This started the love of trains for my grandmother (on dad's side).

Any way you look at it, my family is in love with trains. Well, since they could not take the big ones home, they had to settle for the smaller ones. You would be amazed at the building my family uses to protect their little train additions. It is enormous!

Grandpa loved his model railroad. He spent years building it bigger and bigger. He was so proud of it and I loved just watching the little town he built with the train running all around the edges of his town. He even made a tiny little pond. It was so precious.

It always enthralled me to touch and see all the tiny railway cars. Grandpa was never afraid to let me touch because I took great care not to drop or break anything. I saw the love he had in his eyes anytime he got a new railway carriage. No, it was not the love he would have for a person, it was the pride he had for an item he treasured.

I am a grown man and grandpa (when he died) left his model railway trains to me. Of all his grandchildren, I am the only one who showed any interest in his pass time. I think grandpa felt closer to me because of the love I had and have for those little treasures.

I have never forgotten all the times we shared working on this adored hobby. It was not work to us. It was something we could do as we relaxed and told each other about our days. My grandfather and I went fishing but, we spent more time with those trains than anything else. He left precious memories to me and I thank him for taking time to give me what no one else could, his time.

A childhood with model railway trains and model train scale is so extremely exciting. You are able to get-away to so many different places right there in the comfort of your own home.
