The G scale for model trains is quite a large one and perhaps a bit too large for many modern homes. To give an idea of their size G scale is 1:24 whereas the more common HO is 1:87 so you can see that G scale layounts are going to be around 3 to 4 times larger than the equivelent HO layout.
Having said that they are terrific models and if you have the space they will be the envy of fellow enthusiasts.
